As the Principal HSE Advisor for the Simandou Project at Rio Tinto, I oversee health, safety, and environmental strategies across multiple sites, including mine site construction, mine operations, railway Spur building construction, and two Ports construction

• My role involves:
• Formulating and enforcing HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international regulations
• Conducting thorough risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and foster a safety-first culture
• Working closely with project teams to incorporate HSE considerations into planning and execution phases
• Delivering training programs and support to enhance safety awareness and operational efficiency among staff
• Ensuring adherence to HSE standards and regulations through ongoing compliance checks
• Leading investigations into incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
• Maintaining accurate records and reports of HSE performance metrics and findings for senior management review
• Engaging with stakeholders to promote HSE initiatives and foster collaboration
• Monitoring and analyzing HSE performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
• Developing and implementing emergency preparedness plans to ensure readiness for potential incidents
• Identifying opportunities for HSE enhancements and driving initiatives to improve overall safety performance

• Areas of specialization include:
• Ensure all procedures are being implemented and in accordance to Schlumberger & ARAMCO standards
• Monitor working activities and advise the crew members on preventing injuries, safe working practices, Stop work Authority and the prevention damage to the environment and equipment through different training media such as verbal and PowerPoint presentations & HSE Alert, demonstrations and practical exercises
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports, conduct daily pre-shift briefings and weekly safety meetings using multimedia tools, carry out regular site inspections and audits to check policies and procedures
• Conduct camp, rig and safety equipment inspections, Check Safety Equipment and Ensure to Meet HSERM ( ADC& Schlumberger and ARAMCO requirement) Also MMSR & SWIM
• Undertake incident investigation, Witness Statement, Corrective action and ensure distribution of lessons learned and closeout of actions
• Develop and lead the implementation of HSE rig start up plans for new rigs being bought into the operations Participate in Wells related meetings, e.g

• Ensure compliance and provide training on the use of Control of Work systems such as Permit to Work, Task Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis, Lifting plans, Toolbox talks and audits

• Pre-commencement and commissioning of two rigs (ADC-57L & ADC-58L) HH RIGS, Prepared all set up as per Schlumberger & ARAMCO Requirement and delivered successfully

• Ensure that waste segregation is being done adequately according to project environmental plan
